The meaning of friendship
So today I went to Joey's rugby game, and actually, rugby was really cool! It's like the good parts of football and basketball all combined. I reallly enjoyed watching it. but I'm getting sidetracked...
While trying to get a better view, I climbed to the top of a hill and watched the game with Joann. I was kneeling in front of a broken tree branch, and when I stood up, it carved a line into my butt. My ass crack is now 3 inches longer than it used to be. So there's this swollen red line on my ass right now - it's not very attractive.
Later, I went over to Alex's place to do some homework, and showed him and Brenden my battle scar. You know someone you know is a good friend if he washes the wound on your ass with alcohol, then iodine, then bandages it up.
I will admit, however, the fact that I was yowling and yelling bloody murder when Alex put the alcohol on probably made it sound like a bufu festival. And the frantic "You dropped it in my underwear?!" (the "it" in question is the bandaid) really amused Brenden, who couldn't see a thing.

This is most definately an "I fail at life" story:
So... I just got back from taking my MCB 136 midterm. I left about half an hour early. Now... you're wondering "Is it your familiarity with the material?" "Are you a genius?" "Cause you're so damn cool like that?" No, not really.
I just really had to pee.
I didn't want to walk across like 10 people, then walk back, then leave again. So I skimmed over my work, and turned it in, politely inquired as to where the bathroom was, then bolted down the hall with my bastard bladder.
usually I have no problem w/ that bullshit, but I had not expected my bladder to commit such a heinous treachery that early in the morning (probably because I drank 2 liters of water the night before because I have a dry throat).
*is afraid of test results*

Yay for unproductive Friday nights!!!!
So... Mike and Henry treated me to a belated birthday dinner last night at Joshuya's (I seriously thought it was pronounced Joshua's... but I guess I'm just uncultured and not authentic). SO MUCH SUSHI! And soooo sooooo SOOOOOOOO good. Thank you guys SO much! That was a delicious dinner, and it made me woozy (and funnier!). Then we went back to Mike and Henry's place w/ Rey and I got my ass kicked at mario kart (on gamecube), but not before we saw a strange dub of a Jackie Chan film, and I had a very very good waffle. YAY! Thanks :) Mike's hair looks amazing! He kept on insisting that he could see me with a man, though, what the pho?
Then I went back to watch the lesbian episode of Golden Girls with Joey and Joann. It was a good episode. Good times, good times.
So much for the 3 -4 hours of studying I was planning on putting in.
EDIT: So my closet door just fell down. I think this is supposed to be vaguely symbolic, except I'm out already.

My day and week:
So...
My ipod is officially out of commission... forever, and my warrenty doesn't cover it, and it'll prolly cost several hundred dollars to fix it. So I sez, I sez, "Fuck that shit, bitch, time to get me a new MP3 player." So yes, I overindulged, and bought myself a Creative Labs MP3 player. I love it; it has radio, and can record stuff, and I like that.
Was tutoring again today, and my lord was this child annoying. I've had to work with her for short periods of time in the past before, and I usually don't lose my patience in that period of time. But I had to work with her for about an hour today, and boy... she is such a brat.
She'd be doing something wrong, and whenever I point it out to her, she'd be like "I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW!" and throw her pencil at me. Luckily I wore glasses. She'd snatch the book out from under me, and often, when she screws up on her work, say "You MADE me do it! You screw everything up!" Then I'm like "okay, here's what you can do to fix that..." and she'd snap "I KNOW I KNOW!" then proceed to do it wrong again. Then sometimes she'd demand"do it for me" and I'm like "uh no" and she'd flip out and shout "You're MEAN MEAN MEAN! I hate you! You ALWAYS do this!" And it's not that she's bad at math or anything, she's just an annoying little brat. She always whines "help meeeeee" too when she wants me to erase something for her.
Sadly, I know people my age like this.
Mind you, most of the children that I tutor are little angels, or if they're unruly, they're still good kids on the inside. This little girl was just a spoiled little ARGHHHHHH... ANYWAY...
Hmmm... what else
Oh yeah, I'm convinced half of my MCAT class is retarded.
I have about 60 pages of reading to do for my MCB 136 class, and I want it done tonight.. but I haven't had dinner, and I is hungry like whoa. (Actually I did have dinner at around 4 pm... but I'm starting to hunger again. Man, these midnight snacks'll be the death o' me... MMMMMM bacon cheeseburger... urrrgggh arteries...) I have 2 midterms next week (tues and wed) and I'm not particularly worried, but I kinda need to get my ass on it and stop procrastinating. Oh yeah, I also have about 50 passages of MCATs to do... Guess how long each passage takes! 10 minutes. Yeah. I'm fucked.
---
(an hour later)
Mm so just got back from getting a bacon cheeseburger... yeah. I'm going to die at 25. So much for healthy... and productive... Aiiiiiyaaaa. Sleep now.
--
Want to (but probably won't):
1. Learn guitar
2. I gave up on the skateboard thing (that was shortlived.)
3. Finish doing all my work
4. Run and lift more regularly

Mom quotes:
"There's this REALLY good movie I saw the other day. It was called 'Legally Blind.'"
"It's common knowledge that gay are nice, and lesbians have mental disorders." (and she was serious.)
"You have no game."
--
Joey's mom sent me a Valentine's Day box o' chocolate! Thank you!
--
Apology:
Sorry to all my friends that I was so emo this entire week.

Emo Jenny Mix
Not actually in the real "emo" style of music.
1. Rockapella - Don't tell me you do
2. Silvio Rodriguez - Ojala
3. Brokeback mountain theme (I'm SO Jake Gyllenhaal)
4. Sarah McLachlan - World on Fire
5. Ne-yo - So sick
6. The ENTIRE Kelly Clarkson Breakaway album (yeah yeah, whatever)
7. Fall Out Boy - Sugar, We're goin down swinging
8. Dave- The Space Between
9. Guster - Either Way
10. Guster - Demons
I know, I'm laaaaame. But there is STILL no gratuitous whining on this blog yet!
My ipod miraculously works again though! (hopes hopes hopes... knock on wood!)

Yay I have the best friend in the world!
Got my bday present from Mel on Friday afternoon. It was one of those cylinder poster boxes, and on one end it said "Open this end FIRST!" (the other end said "Wait! Open up the other end") So in it were these cookies, all with a letter on them. There were twenty one cookies that spelled out, what I thought at first was "Happy twenty first birthday!"
But then I checked with Mel, and it actually doesn't say "happy twenty first birthday" it said "Happy twenty first BITCH"
Thanks, Mel, you know how I like it.
but everyone who's had a cookie has liked it - Joey and Alex said so!
--
In other news, I've been drinking a liiiiiittle more than usual. unnnnhealthy!!
--
Man, things have been reaaaaaally a-changin this year. I gutta say, I'm pretty happy. :) But I'm ass behind on work. Behind... like ASS (get it? eh? eh?)
--
Quotables:
"wait, there's like... an Unsafeway?" - taken out of context, but still funny!
"Ew, like, what if you accidently ate some poo?"
"That's a dream I had that I would neither like to think nor talk about." - not taken out of context, just plain old disturbing.
"Wait so uhhh errrrr urrrrrrrrghhh arrrrrgh" - Alex, cause I don't think he remembers saying this.

Happy Birthday, Jenny Chen!
Thanks to everyone who dropped a line (call, AIM, stalkerbook/facebook)! It really meant a lot to me - EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU. :) The funniest part is my parents forgot to call. It's ok, I feel the love.
Thanks for the free breakfast, Alex, lunch (yesterday) Cindy, dinner Wayne, and taking a ceremonial vodka shot w/ me, Joey. (Damn that did NOT go down easy, but thank you Vicky [the Hsu sisters? whatever, it's weird calling ya'll that] for the Stoli).
I'll figure out a time to have a time to properly celebrate and get every one wasted (or just me, because that's what REALLY matters. heh heh.)
Acapella show this Sat night! HELLLLLLLS YES!

So i'm writing in my blog right now. I'm kinda drunk; in fact, I don't think I can walk in a straight line right now. I went to Joey's rugby friend's party and Rey's party (same party) today, and it was really fun. I'm also kind of drunk. But wait I said that already. It was really really fun! I had to leave early, cause I have MCAT classes from 9-5 tomorrow, and that's like, lame to the hizzo.com.
So things I do when drunk
1. Randomly friend people on facebook
2. Run into tree branches
3. Run into walls
3. Run into people.
4. Get all touchy-feely - I'm not normally a touchy feely person.
5. Get sleepy.
6. More outgoing
7. Turn into a delightful shade of Christmas red... ALL OVER.
The end
*passes out*

Haha, ummm due to various questions, "emo slam poetry girl" is not a romantic interest, thank God. She was an obnoxious random person we ran into in the local coffee shop. I wrote a 5 page rant on how much I hated her, but then I realized I wasted a perfectly good blog entry on a random douchebag on the street (in the coffee shop). Also, it was not one of my best entries. Plus, many people have a hard time grasping my pure unadulterated hatred for this person, so I would just look mildly stupid. Trust me, if you were there, you'd be overwrought with loathing, too.
Anyway, school has started. This has got to be the one semester that I look forward to the least in all my time at Cal, mostly because of MCATs. Also, as I sat in every single one of my classes, I was falling asleep in each and every one of them. No academic excitement either.
Turning 21 soon, yay! I guess if I don't get smashed, I'd be doing something immoral or perverse. Too bad my bday falls on a fucking monday. But I'd be much obliged if someone will take me to a gay bar, please.
Random notes:
1. you know that pop song MmmBop? It actually has lyrics! Wow!
2. MRAAAAH dot com
3. Man, I just wish I had the balls to ask for what I want.
4. More insecure than usual lately. But any more detail goes on the angsty blog.
5. But Erica cheered me up.
6. I need to learn to cook.
7. Say "yes". Just do it. It's good for your health.
8. So someone tagged a really ugly picture of me on facebook, and I kind of want to untag it, but I don't want to offend the person who put it up. But now that I've said that - you're all going to look at it. So I guess I won't untag it, since you'll all see my ugliness in FULL FUCKING GLORY. (God it's an ugly picture I swear to god)

So Theresa has been harassing me about posting about our shopping day. She really wants for 5 seconds of fame.
So we went shopping and I bought pantstheend lolthxbye.
...
...
...
Just kidding.
We met up at Red Brick Pizza, where I wanted something with olive oil, but then i ended up dumping off all the olive oil out. (Olive oil in my pizza, not just solid olive oil). And she got a meatworks pizza, cause she likes meet. uh. Meat. Damn.
Then we were very domestic and went to that place that sells stuff. Like bedposts and blinds and stuff. We discussed the merits of 4 post beds. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you probably don't want ot know. Theresa's a perv.
Then Theresa picked me a reallly good pair of jeans from da Gap omgyaykekekeke. But then I found out my mom bought me jeans from Banana Republic.
Today we went to eat lunch w/ Brenden Theresa and Alex. I almost killed Theresa (or both of us) on the ride there, and the shrimp for lunch was good. I like fried things.
----
I was reading up on astrology today for 5 minutes, when I realized that I was being a total tool. So I stopped, and felt guilty.

So today was Erica's bday party
Was really fun! I got a really cute UNIQUE cactus. It's actually in my car right now.... I should probably go save it. Erica's gunna flip out when she reads this. At least I'm better than David; he dropped his on the floor.
And Andes mints... mmm.....
David got Erica a funny card - it goes something like "I hope for beauty and grace during your time of corporeal decay." Ahh yes. But she got really kickass presents, especially the charm bracelet from her parents - it's pretty hardcore.
The food was really good ( Red Onion) and OMG I'm so full. IT was really awesome of her parents to pay for it.
Afterwards, Erica me and Mel went back to Erica's place and watched Crash (the 2nd time for me). Yup, it's still a good movie.
Ahhhh won't see home friends for a while... again! Laaaaame.
--
Oh so I almost died today. The car's break wouldn't go, so I wasn't stopping while rolling down hill. SO I threw the car into park. And then I stopped. Yay!
The end.
It was really really fun - Happy bdayErica!

I did have one of those long posts where they (these ephemeral "them") pose some questions, and i answer them. Then I realize that my answers were all too boring.
"So what'd you do for Christmas?"
I... I don't remember actually.
Actually come to think of it, I think I saw movies.
And yes, maybe I picked my fingernails a little.
I breathed.
Ate.
Slept.
Exactly. THat's why I can't answer those damn quizzes.
I can't really be funny lately, cause nothing's interesting has happened.
Um I went to the Grove with Zac and Mel a week ago. That was pretty exciting. Zac payed for a French dinner with mediocre souffle, um, we walked around and made fun of things. I think he was hitting on the olive oil saleswoman, but I wasn't sure.
Eh, me and David would mill around places and made snarky comments about people. I take joy in being insensitive and cruel, but only when I'm around David. We make misanthropy funny! Or maybe he does, and I'm just a bitch.
I do the same thing with my mom, actually, which is kind of creepy.
Yes, around Saturday, my mother DID say, "Is it me, or is 'ugly' in?" It was really hilarious.
To which I replied in my self deprecating way, "Maybe someone will want to take me home."
She patted me on the shoulder.
Theresa and I went shopping, and bought pants and a shirt. I need to get them altered/hemmed though. (There, Theresa, you're in my blog now. Hang out with me more so I actually have an interesting story about you).
New Year's my family got together, and it was really fun. THe food was sooo good. David came over later and we chilled.
I've been having an irregular sleeping schedule.
Oh, I have a new haircut, if anyone's curious.

I'm mildly emo right now. I'm not sure why.
Not emo as in sad, but emo as in like, apeshit crazy. I am emo enough to air guitar all over my room. Except that's not emo, that's just stupid. It's always nice to be delusional once in a while tho, which I do a lot. Delusions are kinda my thing. I pretended that I was in a punk rock band - it's probably because I can't get that goddamn "Sugar, we're goin down" song out of my head. It's playing on repeat, hmm apparently for the 51st time now (Itunes). Goddamn I suck.
You know what else sucks? My boobs. THey give me back problems. They're also excessive.
I'd make a good dude, I think. If it weren't for my tits.
cohesiveness is overrrated. Streeeam of consciousness.
I shall end with a quote:
"You know what the Amazons used to do? They used to cut off the right breast, so it'll be easier to reach. These are the types of people you're dealing with." - David

Ok, ummm so merry xmas and all winter holidays, etc etc. I prefer agnostic day, myself. So my xmas went pretty well. I spent it with Steve and Peggy and their dad, Mr. Chu. THey're off in Vegas right now. We saw lots of movies... including
Crash - GO SEE IT. OMG SO GOOD. It warms my ethnic studies heart.
Pretty Persuasion - fucked up but funny.
Be Cool - pretty funny.... the Rock can act! kinda...
National Treasure - fun fun fun
Born into Brothels - good but kinda disappointing.
SO our parents have decided. If me and Steve don't find anyone by the time we're 30, we're going to be life partners. It'll be pretty sweet. Yes, the lesbian thing does throw a wrench in the plan, but that's why we're life partners. Or something.
I saw Brokeback Mountain yesterday. I recommend you to see it. It's not really an edge-of-your-seat or OMG what happens next, but it is a very good story. I think you can relate even if you're straight. And not a cowboy.
My mom said the funniest most asian thing ever the other day. She wanted to say "brainwash" but instead she said "washed the brain."
Oh mommy.

Joey's cookie party
So I drove down to SD yesterday to visit Joey and her friends for her annual cookie party. It was really fun! I drove down in my mother's Honda Accord Hybrid, and lemme tell ya. It is one sweet car. There's GPS system, so I didn't die from getting lost and shot at. And it handles soooo smoothly. And... AND, I got to SD and back on less than half a tank of gas. In a 6 cylinder car. OH MY GOD, isn't that FUCKING beautiful. If everyone drove a hybrid, we wouldn't have a gas shortage. Stupid hummers.
tangent: What the hell are hybrid hummers? WHat's the damn point of the thing? It's like a car for A) poser environmentalists or B) people who like oxymorons
ANYway, it was a really pretty drive. And the sound system was pretty good, so I pretended to be cool (pronounced coo') and listened to rap. Then I realized that I was a preppy kid from the suburbs who is driving her mom's car, then I promptly felt like a psoer, so I listened to some punk rock instead. Yeah, it was the good kind of solitude. I ate chips and drank doctor pepper, I felt like a redneck somehow...
So I got there, and it was really really cool. I got acquainted with joey's room, we hung out and here are some highlights.
1. Eggnog with gin
2. CRAAAZY punch
3. good cookies
4. omg good mexican food that latoya drove us to. there's POTATOES in the burritos. GENIUS. Carbs plus more carbs = fat + FINE CUISINE
5. I met Joey's friends, half of whom I know already, but they were all really cool. Me and Cassie (i apologize dearly for spelling errors) made a child of dough. It's a hermaphrodite. ANd we're really openminded parents, so we let it keep its boobs and its testicles. And gave it plastic surgery. But I'm not paying for no child support.
6. Travis' brother looks exactly like him.
7. We went to a porn shop, and they had Debby does Dallas. There was also a playboy with my high school classmate in it. That was fun. We looked at dildos, and I slapped latoya in the face with a penis. But not a real penis. A plastic one.
8. We went into a another porn shop, and Joey got shocked with an electric fly swatter. She's still mad about that.
I drove back, and really had to pee when I got back. So I did. The end.
My friends from way back when (the Taiwan days, yo) are here to visit. We rented an assload of movies and are gunna overdose on them.
You know, I realized something someone has once said to me.
"When you don't feel the need to talk about something anymore, that's when you know it's ok for you to talk about it."
It's alright - everything is cool.
I'm still a loser though; don't get the wrong idea.

Running
So I went running, as says my goal.
When I started gasping for breath after removed because it's so embarassing i realized that I was ridiculously out of shape.
RIDICULOUSLY.
ever had that feeling, "what was I doing all this time?" yeah I got that feeling when a jolly old lady with gray permed hair skipped by me. "You old evil hussy!" I shouted after her "why must you mock me so?" Then I threw small Skittles (r) sized pebbles at her.
The aforementioned incident never occurred. There was no jolly old lady with gray permed hair. NorI do not have the audacity to scream "you old evil hussy", though, just for the record, I HAVE screamed "ATE YOUR PUSSY" in a crowd of Asian girls in the company of my roommate. Who is not Asian. They probably thought it was her, cause it couldn't have possibly been me. I'm too innocent looking with my glasses. (This happened Friday)
So my grandparents are here. It's a mixed blessing. I love them, but earlier today, my grandmother said "Is it me, or has Jenny gotten fat" then she promptly force fed me some cookies and tofu.
----
i've lost my faith in rap
When I heard the radio today, and on almost every station that plays rap. I hear "dum dum dum... shake that laffy taffy, girl, shake that laffy taffy," I knew that rap has died a horrible screaming death with bling and bad candy references.
Did someone go "Wow, tootsie roll made a good song. It's a great analogy for ass! i bet laffy taffy'll work just as well, it's made by the same company, and it's just as chewy. Like a fine woman's ass"
Since we're playing along, hereare some suggestions:
let me nibble on them reese's pieces
Cause there's no wrong way to eat a reese's, babe
i want to taste your rainbow, Skittles
Hit me with a home run, babe... ruth
that was horrible and demeaning to all of our intellects.
Gnight,
don't forget to shake your laffy taffy. I'm sure you have some in the leftover halloween bin.
